Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base is a military airfield that is operated by the United States Navy. NAS JRB Fort Worth is home to the Air Force Reserve Command’s Tenth Air Force, the 301st Fighter Wing, and the 136th Airlift Wing of the Texas Air National Guard. Many Marine Corps aviation and ground units are also located at NAS JRB Fort Worth. The airfield is located near Fort Worth in Tarrant County, Texas. Children who live in military housing attend school at Burton Hill Elementary, Stripling Middle School, or Arlington Heights High School. The School Liaison Office can provide further information about specific school districts for those living off post and is located in Room 112. To contact the office by phone, call 817-782-1873. There are currently no Department of Defense schools located on NAS JRB Fort Worth. The Child Development Center is located in Building 3190 and includes programs for full day care, hourly care, and a preschool program. There is a waiting list for most programs. Fees are based on total family income. For information on specific programs, call the JRB Fort Worth Child Development Center at 817-782-7520.
Housing is coordinated by the NAS JRB Fort Worth Family Housing Office which is located at 1330 Military Parkway. Whether looking for on-post or off-post housing, military personnel should put their name on the wait list. NAS JRB Fort Worth currently has over 80 family housing units. The housing office can help with off-post properties such as homes for sale or rent. Apartment guides are also available showing rental options with three and four bedroom units in the community. For further information, contact the Family Housing Office at 817-782-5711. Temporary lodging is provided by the Consolidated Base Housing. Reservations can be made by calling 817-782-5483. The Navy Lodge is also available for those seeking temporary lodging and can be contacted at 1-800-NAVY-INN. Campground, RV parks and mobile home parks are also available close to NAS JRB Fort Worth.
